DefibsPlus is an Australian business passionate about saving lives. Recently, we’ve expanded our community to our neighbours in New Zealand to launch the CellAED® – an innovative world-first in AED technology.
We’re on a mission to make defibrillators as common sense and commonplace in homes and community spaces as seatbelts are in vehicles.
You can contact our New Zealand based team by calling 027 DEFIBS+ / 027 333 4270, email [email protected] or complete the enquiry form here.
SCA or sudden cardiac arrest is an electrical problem in the heart. The nervous system controls the heart and cardiovascular system by sending electrical pulses to the muscles. If there is a problem with that pulse, the message isn’t received by the heart, and the ventricles start to quiver erratically (known as fibrillation) rather than pump as they usually would.
This means that no oxygenated blood can get to your tissue and organs, causing cells in the brain and body to start dying. If this isn’t restored very quickly, the patient will die or experience severe brain and organ damage, making this a very serious medical emergency.
An Automatic External Defibrillator is a life-saving device used to treat Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Must only be used on a person who is unresponsive and not breathing normally. The Rescuer commences CPR until an AED is applied, so that a shock can be delivered if necessary. Using an AED can increase the survival rate of Cardiac Arrest.
We anticipate deliveries of CellAED® will be from August 2022.
We’ll contact you via email at least a month before delivery is available.
No. Your CellAED® comes with a non-rechargeable battery and will arrive pre-charged.
The approved shelf life of CellAED® is currently 13 months.
Included in the optional CellAED for lifeTM support and replacement service we’ll remotely monitor your CellAED® and notify you if the shelf-life is near exceeding. We’ll then arrange to have the latest model replacement sent to you at no additional charge. At time of confirming your order we’ll share more information about this optional service, so you can choose to upgrade. If you choose not to opt in, it will be time to replace your CellAED® when you observe the green LED change to amber or at the expiry date, whichever comes sooner.
